Careers & Open Positions

Bakker Construction is a design-build firm serving the Monterey Peninsula, specializing in custom homes, remodeling, and improvement projects where both the finished product and the experience of living through the process matter deeply.

Our mission is to transform our clients’ vision into reality through a seamless, collaborative design-build journey—by understanding their routines, aspirations, and lifestyle; crafting spaces that reflect who they are; and delivering a process that families can actually live through with clarity and trust. Operationally, we aim to make projects run better than people expect them to run.

We define ourselves not simply as a contractor, but as a trusted partner—one that families rely on to enter their homes, take responsibility for complexity, and deliver work with care, professionalism, and high standards.

Our core values are not abstract statements — they are operating constraints that guide decision-making when timelines tighten, unexpected conditions arise, and homeowners feel the stress of living through construction.

We lead with integrity, prioritize service, value collaboration, and hold ourselves to high standards of craftsmanship and professionalism. Our Superintendents are trusted leaders, supported by thoughtful planning, clear communication, and a cohesive team environment where design and production work together.

Our Core Values

  • We uphold honesty and transparency in every aspect of our work, ensuring that our clients, partners, and team members can always trust our word and actions.

  • We are committed to delivering the highest quality craftsmanship and service, continually refining our processes to exceed industry standards and client expectations.

  • We prioritize the needs, vision, and satisfaction of our clients, guiding them through the design-build journey with care, communication and expertise.

  • We embrace continuous learning, technology, and creative problem-solving to enhance our processes, efficiency, and the overall client experience.

  • We foster a collaborative and supportive environment, where each team member is valued, empowered, and dedicated to achieving shared success.

  • We are building a lasting legacy by creating opportunities for our team, supporting our families, and enhancing the communities we serve.
