As a company and a family we always take stock of our blessings during the Christmas season. We believe it is a time to assist those who are less fortunate, especially children.

That is why we believe so strongly in the Operation Give Back Toy Drive. This event has been put on for many years, with generous sponsors Holaday Seed and Lowes Packaging Group leading the way. Bakker Construction participates each year by serving as a receiving station for the gifts, as well as volunteering our time to collect and distribute these gifts on behalf of the Salvation Army.

These gifts will be given to children who are in need of some gifts to brighten their spirits, and to let them know that their dreams can become a reality. This may seem like a small act, but the gift of giving joy can have emotional and motivational effects that last well into the future. These toys show them that someone cares, and that they are being thought of.

Small acts of kindness can make a world of difference in people’s lives. When you hear amazing stories about people overcoming huge odds, it often begins with someone’s small, unexpected act of kindness.

We have experienced the kindness of this community first-hand through our work on building Tatum’s Garden, an all-inclusive playground that any child can participate in. Without the charitable nature of the people of our community, there would not be a Tatum’s Garden today.

Bakker Construction strives to give back in any way that we can, and one of our main focuses outside of Tatum’s Garden is Operation Give Back. Help us to make this year the best yet for the deserving children that live among us in Monterey County. Your small gift can make a huge difference to the future of our county and our youth.

Thank you!
